OUR CLIENT:
Our client was a New Zealand citizen living in Australia on a subclass 444 visa.
THE CIRCUMSTANCES:
The client wanted Australian Citizenship for her two teenage sons (who were New Zealand citizens) so that they could access FEEHELP when they attended university within Australia.
OUR SOLUTION:
The client has visited Australia prior to 1994 so we were able to have her Permanent Residency status reinstated by applying for a Return Resident visa (subclass 155) which was granted for a 12 month period. Once the client was approved as a Permanent Resident, we then applied for two children visas (subclass 802) which were granted within 4 months.
The client and her children applied for Australian Citizenship and the children are now Australian Citizens studying at university and accessing FEEHELP for course costs.
