Overview:

This visa is offered to invited workers with skills Australia needs.  Applicants under this visa class are offered permanent residency.

Basic Eligibility:

• You must be invited to apply
• You must be under 45
• Be able to score 65 points or more
• Have a successful skills assessment in an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List
• Have a competent English level
• Meet health and character requirements
• You don’t need a sponsor or nominator

Skilled Independent Visa

Subclass: 189

Stream: New Zealand stream

Overview:

This visa enables New Zealand citizens who have demonstrated commitment and contribution to Australia to live and work here permanently.

Basic Eligibility:

• Satisfy the income requirement
• You must hold a New Zealand Special Category visa (subclass 444)
• You must have lived here for at least the past 5 years
• You must have started living in Australia on or before 19 February 2016
• Meet health and character requirements

• Be nominated or invited to apply by State Government

Overview:

This visa is a provisional visa for skilled workers who want to live and work in regional Australia and has been nominated by a state or territory government.

• Be prepared to stay in Australia for 5 years
• Be nominated or sponsored
• Have a suitable skills assessment for your occupation
• Be able to score 65 points or more
• Meet the English language requirements
• Meet the skills requirement
• Meet health and character requirements
• Be willing to live, work and study in a designated regional area of Australia

Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) Visa

Subclass: 191

Overview:

This visa is for people who have lived, worked and studied in designated regional area Australia on a previous, eligible visa.

• Hold an eligible visa
• Have lived for at least 3 years and have a taxable income at or above a specific income threshold for at least three years
• Both primary and secondary applicants have complied with the conditions of the eligible visa you hold or have held
