The Skilled Points System

Australian points based skilled visas have been designed to ensure that skill shortages in the labour market can be filled. Australia is a much desired country so securing a visa is a competitive undertaking and the skilled points test intends to see the most skilled applicants within wanted occupations attracted to Australia.

Most skilled visas in Australia require the applicant to score a minimum number of points using a Points Test.

Points are applied around a series of criteria including your age, nominated occupation, qualifications, proficiency with English, nominations and sponsorships and other various factors.
